Samuel Taylor is a class actions Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s Melbourne office. He is currently working on the Vocation and QBE class actions.

Samuel holds a Bachelor of Arts with first class honours and Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University, and a Graduate Certificate in Migration Law and Practice from the Australian National University. During his study, he was the recipient of the Monash Law Achievement Award Scholarship and awarded the highest mark in several of his Juris Doctor classes, graduating with a high distinction average.

Before coming to the law, Samuel worked in a range of client-focused welfare roles that strengthened his desire to work in a field that made a positive impact. He joined Maurice Blackburn as a paralegal in 2013, and was admitted to practise law in 2016.

“I was motivated to practise law by a desire to put my analytical skills to use advocating for clients and effecting positive change in people’s lives,” says Samuel.

“Practising in class actions provides a unique opportunity to simultaneously make a real difference to individuals, keep the justice system accessible and tackle technical challenges.

“Class actions also play an important policy role by inhibiting corporate misconduct with far-reaching consequences for society.

“It is rewarding to practise in a field that changes things for the better at both an individual and societal level.”

Samuel previously worked on the Kilmore and Murrindindi Bushfire Class Actions and the IOOF Potential Class Action.
